Setting by ability is standard practice, especially in English, Maths and Science.
 
Literacy is a priority in the College. Reading and being able to spell correctly are essential parts of our work.

We have invested in staff to ensure classes of up to 25 in English, Maths, Science, IT, Drama and Art throughout the College.

All GCSE classes only have between 15-25 pupils.

Learning Support staff work with boys in small groups and also give support for boys in lessons

Homework is set by all staff and there is an expectation that parents / guardians will support the College and ensure it is completed on time and to a high standard.

All pupils sit GCSE core Science and English Literature in Year 10.
  
Pupils may take GSCE Maths in Year 10. They
will study AS Maths or GCSE Statistics in Year 11

It is intended that one group of pupils will take GSCE
RE in Year 10 and study GCSE Philosophy & Ethics in Year 11
